I have received compliments on the style of these shoes, though I'm more of a pragmatist. So far, they break in easily. I've worn them casually, under modest athletic conditions, and severe conditions for extended hours. They have proven to be waterproof, but remember that if it can't take in water, it likely can't let out sweat. Laces hold together in moderate conditions, but once activity gets very rigorous, expect to need to retie them fairly frequently.
