I love these shoes. While expensive, they are worth every penny , imho. Wide toe box, and comfortable for walking, these shoes are amazing. I had a hip replacement and needed something that would not be a shoe that tends to drag in front, as it could make you trip. These are great!Altra is great for people who want zero drop, cushioned shoes. I have arthritic toes and terrible feet and Altra’s wide toe box used to be perfect for me. Then they changed the design, narrowed the toe box, and lost me. My usual size felt tight and squeezed my arthritic toes. The Torin Luxe have a forgiving fabric with give and I ordered a half-size up; this is the closest to the wonderful original Altras I’ve found. Altras wear out fairly quickly and lose tread and cushion but I’m willing to keep buying them for this level of comfort. PS These do not have that terrible, razor-blade tongue of the regular Torins. The tongue is plush and inoffensive.Very comfortable shoesMy first pair of Altra running shoes lasted me 3+ years until I literally wore a hole in the toe. They were the best running/athletic shoes I’ve ever bought. I replaced them with these, and while they still have the comfort and design I expected, the tread is significantly worn off after less than 3 months. They’re still the most comfortable running shoes I’ve found so I will probably buy another pair when these ones are unwearable, but I expected better durability after my first experience.I have had several pairs of Altra's over the span of a few years. My parents also wear them. We typically GO to FrontRunner to buy them, this was my first purchase on Amazon. I am not sure why, but the treads started pulling out of the sole after just a few weeks. I didn't think about them still being replaceable, but something told me to look and I am glad I did. I was so disappointed the $160 pair of shoes I bought only lasted a couple months and started falling apart. I certainly hope it was a one time defect. Got my new pair yesterday and these are going back to wherever they came from.This pair is so pretty too...Just the right amount of cush and love the wide toe area. Most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve had, especially for my Tailor’s bunion problem. My feet don’t hurt wearing these shoes.These shoes are great! So comfortable! I can walk all day in these. I have no idea why some reviewers say the tongue hurts them. It’s just a regular tongue like any pair of running shoes. There is nothing uncomfortable about these shoes and nothing weird about the design. I definitely recommend these!These altras are wonderful! They are comfy and beautiful. I’m so glad I bought them, and would highly recommend them to any runner- your knees and feet will thank you!
