I bought the mens version for myself 3 years ago and have done 9 mile hikes in them.I enjoyed them so much I got them for my wife who has bad knees. They put you up more on the balls of your feet instead of crashing down on your hells which helps protect the knees. It takes some time to redevelop the muscles needed for walking the way we were intended. When first getting these, only go for short walks until your feet develop and get used to them. Especially if you have soft skin on your feet and always wear socks. Be ware of where they crease across the top of your foot. As the shoes break in the crease becomes less firm and more comfortable like any other pair of shoes that break in well. The have amazing grip for soft dirt, dry or wet. They are as good as you can get in mud, but then again nothing grips in mud.
