This is the second of these shoes I have ordered. I love the color, the fit, and how they performI purchased these shoes for running. I have extremely high arches (My footprint is totally disconnected between the forefoot and heel), damaged knees and hips, am prone to Achilles tendonitis and shin splints, and supinate slightly (heels roll outward). I'm a mess, basically, so I need a shoe with a level 4 or 5 cushion and very sturdy support. But without being constrictive, as I have a high foot profile due to my arches. I also wear insoles and athletic socks when I run. And these were purported to be narrow, so I decided to go up a half size.I chose these shoes based on online reviews.ARE THEY NARROW?I was worried about the reviews that claim these are narrow. I don't have wide feet, but I don't have narrow feet either. And when I run, the ball of my foot and my toes "splay" apart a bit, so I usually prefer room in the toe box to accommodate for that. But on first wear, I don't find them narrow at all, particularly in the toe box, where I felt there was ample room. That was surprising.PROFILE:I DO find the laces go up higher on the foot than i typically like since I have a high profile and laces often cause my feet to go numb. I just don't lace the last eyes.COMFORT:These have a high degree of cushion and a snappy, springy response. I need the cushion, but like to feel the response with the running surface, so that snappy response makes them very comfortable overall. However, I still find numbness in my toes (Which is super common for me if I'm using, say, an elliptical) is still an issue.STYLEIf it matters, they're a nice, understated running shoe with a few small details that make them quite attractive. I got them in grey because grey goes with everything and after my shoes retire from running, they usually end up becoming "Schlepping around town" shoes, so I want to make sure they're not going to spend their sunset years clashing with my wardrobe.Very comfy…I have these sneakers in dark gray. The color shown us white. I did decide to keep them but the color is ICE blue with navy blue laces, which I switched for white.Walking and workoutThis is my 4th pair! I sized up to a 9 from my usual 8.5 when I started wearing mizunos. Great support. I walk miles in my neighborhood with my dog everyday.I have medium width feet, high arch and like cushioning. Plenty of room in toe boxI keep ordering the Waverider as it offers a fit that seems to help to keep me running and also keeps my Plantar Fasciitis at bay. I also use an arch insert and it fits perfectly. I have to order a size up from my regular shoe size as true with most running sneakers.I wear a 9 in Brooks, ASICS, and now these. At first I though I should’ve bought a 9.5, but after 4 runs, I’m glad I didn’t. These shoes feel a bit more sluggish than my ASICS GT-2000s; I almost feel less lithe and slower in them. I don’t time my runs so I don’t really know but don’t really care. Will I buy another pair when these are kicked? Maybe…it’ll depend on price! I was loyal to Brooks for 3 rounds, then when they were too $$ I found ASICS 2000s and had them for 2 rounds (each round roughly 400 miles). Alas I found the ASICS flattened under my toe area prematurely (before the heel compressed) and now these Mizuno. Time will tell.I’m a long time Mizuno fan. These are my 7th pair. The first five pairs wore incredibly well. For those, I retired them as the soles wore down, typically wearing for more than a year with many miles behind me. The last two pairs have both worn out at the back of the ankle long before the soles did. I have had these shoes for approximately 10 months and wear them to the gym a couple days a week, alternating with another pair. They are not getting heavy use. I don’t expect running shoes to last years and years, but I do expect a pair that is really only getting light use to at least last a year. I thought the first pair wearing down like that was a fluke but sadly, I’m now thinking this is a Mizuno quality issue. For the amount I pay for these shoes, I’m disappointed in their lack of longevity. I’m reluctant to buy another pair for fear they will wear out just as quickly again.I have been loyal to another brand for years, but have been looking to switch things up. All the reviews on this shoe are so good and I will support that the cushioning is stellar, but if you have wide feet, don't even bother. The shoes arrived so I am wearing them in the house to test them out and even sitting at my desk my feet are so constricted my toes are loosing feeling. This is my third pair of Mizuno. They are very comfortable and have great cushioning.I like the colour and the design of the shoes. However, you should choose the size bigger. Its size is smaller than usual. Anyway I love this product and the service.Love mizuno wave riders, excellent for “neutral” runners, light weight, great value. Typically fit a half size small, so order a half size larger than other shoes.Me gusta hacer running sobre la ciclopista q es asfalto y estos tennis simplemente maravillosos y súper cómodos para este deporte. Los amė!
