This shoe is beautiful colors, love it but they have a bit tight on the middle of shoe, make me uncomfortable to wear it !I ordered these in my usual running shoe size 7.5, but had to order a full size down since they were too big (not normal for me!)What could explain this is from the picture I included - I received the women’s XA PRO 3D v8 in Wide. You have to read carefully through this listing. Based on the other reviews, I can see why people were mislead. I had to check twice, currently the description on the listing is for the Men’s GTX version. This means the men’s Gore-Tex, more waterproof version.I can say, I wasn’t even sure if I was still going to receive the wide version when I received the 2nd pair.I ordered these in 3 different sizes. It’s a little bit more difficult to check since the toe box is very protected and stiff. It’s harder to tell where your toes are to measure the space they have to touch the top.I will be using these for adventure racing and will update this review once I have accumulated more usage through the winter.I have to laugh because the colour of the issues in sunlight almost looks neon but I figure that's OK. The shoe fits perfectly Which is not always the case since I have A foot that is wide around the toes and has a narrow heel. I am heading to TX next Sunday to work 12 hour days x 7 day weeks on my feet, not behind a desk, helping with placement & being compassionate toward children separated from their parents. Whether I can muster the stamina to help x 4 months remains to be seen, BUT I promised Creator I will tend to this vulnerable flock for 30 days straight, then assess, regroup and see if I can help another 60-90 days. Working on dharma! So I declare these shoes to be magical- and I will be gifted the wisdom of SOLOMON and perseverance to help fix whatever needs fixing. ?These shoes are solid. They don't breath well and so they spend the day and night outside until I put them on again. Other shoes not a problem. I've washed them, changed the type of socks and placed them outside but the stinky feet are just a given with these shoes. I won't buy them again though I feel that they will last a long time for the trail. I've got several hundred miles out of them and will continue to put them outside after wear. Cheers.Snug on the toes, but fits the heel. This is my umpteenth pair of Salmon trail shoes. I’ve been a fan forever. The X series fit my wide feet, and they last a long time. Good support throughout the foot, and a great sole that has good traction. I hope they never stop making these!!!So, my shoes showed up today. I am a 9.5 and always get a 10 for anything hiking. This is my first pair of Solomons and I trusted the "true to size" statement. Nope, in my opinion they run big, nit quite sure if it's by an entire size or just half yet, but it feels like a whole size as there was a ton of extra room for my toes. The shoe is amazing though and I'm really looking forward to using the correct size when I get it. Will update.Great shoe. Have always had Salomon trail runners. The only complaint about these is that the tongue tends to slip to the outer side of the foot and then there is pressure on the top of the foot directly from the laces. Could just me my foot though.I love these trainers. I have several pairs which I use for walking. I’m usually a size 5 in a shoe however the size 5 in this trainer is too small so I take the 5.5 which fits perfect. I also take a 5.5 in a running trainer and I suppose that’s what these trainers are meant for albeit, I don’t use them for running as I use a lighter weight trainer for that purpose. The quick lace up system is great as well. This is a light grey colour with a little bit of purple and a little bit of mint green and I must admit, it’s my favourite colour to date. Would definitely recommend.Always had Salomon hiking boots, always get a 5.5, could not get the sizing right on these at all, my feet sizes aren't that different but one foot felt super lose and the other was really tight; but if I'd of kept them I'd of gone true to size.Just couldn't get my head around the lacing system, I like a tight lace and these just didn't feel or look right, and felt like because the lace wasn't comfy, they'd of rubbed. They definitely felt like they supported the foot though!(Went for the alphacross blast gtx ones in the end and absolutely love them)This is my umpteenth pair of XA Pros. The last has clearly changed; I used to be an 8.5 but now have to buy at least a 9 or 9.5. The fit is therefore not as good as before being too wide in the heel area to gain length. I do love the colour and the lack of Goretex here isn't an issue as these are designated to be a "clean" pair. If I was trail running or walking cross country I would only use the GTX version.Salomon is a great make and these are really light to wear and look good. I have always like the quick fastening. Pity the waterproof version was not available. BUT, they are extremely neat - I bought a half size up and should have made it a whole size, so they are not as comfortable as they should be. I recommend always going at least a size up.I bought these as a present for my wife to walk the Camino Santiago. I bought the male version. Mine lasted only 15 days before they tore at the anchor point for the lacing system on each shoe. These holes grew each day and let in water and/or small stones, depending on the weather. My wife's lasted 30 days before the same thing happened to hers. I have walked the Camino twice before, each time wearing Salomon shoes but this new v8 model simply isn't robust enough.
