I wear a women’s 9.5 and these are true to size. I picked up a pair of Wave Rider 19s at a local sporting goods store without really ever having the intention of running. Therefore, I did zero research on running shoes, didn’t have a gait analysis, etc. A few months after that, I started running and have been running for over a year now. It was quite the happy accident that I seemed to have picked the perfect shoe for my dynamics. After they got about a hundred miles on them, I ran across a great deal on these on Amazon (less than half the price I paid in-store), so I nabbbed another pair so that Icould start alternating between the 2. The original pair has 200 miles on them and this pair now has 120 miles on them and both are holding up great. These are neutral shoes and are somewhere between cushioned and responsive, which I think is referred to as balanced. Mizunos are known for their wave plate technology, which gives a bit of a stiff feel and they are a little loud to me on a hard surface, but they’ve never done me wrong. From day 1 out of the box for both pairs of shoes, I’ve never had a single blister nor have I had shin or foot problems. A lot of that has to do with your individual arch and gait, but these work for me. I did mix in a 3rd pair of a different brand a few months ago because I wanted a little more cushion. I’ve run a half marathon in my wave riders and a half marathon in the other brand. I’m finding that, though I do enjoy the extra cushion and softer ride of the other brand, they are making my ankles hurt. I’m starting to wonder if perhaps I overpronate a bit and the wave riders are providing a bit more support than the cushioned shoes even though they are both neutrals. Either way, Wave Riders are a trusted model and not a line that Mizuno appears to have any intention of abandoning. The Wave Rider 21s are out now. Both pairs of 19s are wearing well. Pics of this shoe with 120 miles on them (red soles) are attached and I’ve also included pics of the soles of my other 19s with 200 miles on them (purple).I have been running competitively for the past fourteen years. From high school cross-country 5k's, to the Boston Marathon, to a handful of ultra-marathons, this model has served me well! I was given several $100+ name brand pairs during my time running collegiately, and I always opted to buy these shoes instead.I would recommend going to a local running store to get measured and fitted your first time buying any new running shoe. Now that I know what size and model is best for me, I find them online. If you are looking to buy without trying them on, I would recommend buying a half size bigger than what you normally wear; feet tend to swell while running and you also want more freedom of motion so your toes don't slam into the front, especially on downhills. I have narrower feet and have found plenty of room in the width of these shoes, so I believe they would be great for anyone with average width. Look for a wide size if you have had past issues. You can look at the wear on your old running shoes to see if you have any issues with pronation. If the bottom is worn more significantly on one side than the other, it would be best to look for shoes with more support on the outside or inside, as appropriate. All running companies make shoes for that purpose and can be identified by the coloring in the foam on the side. Sections of darker greys indicate additional support to counter pronation and help prevent strain and impact on joints. If you a neutral runner like me (the wear on the bottom of your shoes is fairly symmetrical), then I highly recommend these shoes! These come laced up to the top eye. If you feel and pressure in your arch or ankle, try changing the laces before sending the shoes back. The additional holes closer to the heel are an option to provide a vast variety of configurations. I recommend experimenting skipping different holes as much as possible before giving up on any pair.I have been wearing Mizuno Wave Riders for the past 7 years, replacing my shoe every 4-6 months, so I have tried many versions of this shoe. Unfortunately this model, #19, is my least favorite for one distinct reason: they have added elasticity to the laces. I'm not sure what "problem" they were trying to solve by doing this, but it was a terrible decision. It's probably important to note that I am not a runner. I teach dance fitness, so I do a lot of jumping and side to side lateral movement. When I first started wearing this version, I felt very unstable in the shoe. My foot was sliding all over the place because the elastic laces were stretching and letting my foot go beyond the boundaries of the shoe. Tying them super tight did not prove to help, but just cut off circulation to my toes. Maybe elastic laces provide some special value to long distance runners, but they are terrible for cross training.I did end up buying NORMAL replacement laces, but I find this to be so annoying. I could not find a color to match perfectly, plus I had to incur an additional cost on top of this already expensive shoe. I'm quite annoyed with Mizuno, a brand I have been loyal to for years. I hope they cut these horrible laces in version #20.I have two pairs of the Wave Rider 18's and I like them very much and wanted a new pair but in black. So I found these and decide to give them a go. I sometimes wear a size 9 or 9.5 but for workout/running shoes I get a 10 to provide room for the toe box. These fit okay. I feel I have room in the toe box but my heel slips a bit and not as sug as I would like them. I tested them out in my circuit class and they did okay but my feet kinda slide a bit in my shoes. Plus the Wave Rider 18 seem like it has more cushion on the bottom and the 19's seem more stiff and hard. I'll keep them because I love the style and color of the shoe but just wish it was more like the 18's.I love this sneaker...very comfy though a bit narrow...I like a wider shoe. Next time would go a 1/2 size bigger. My 3rd pair... great for supinators...I love my MIZUNO'sI love these runners. I wear them everydayBest shoe for a wide foot-very durable and has good arch and ankle support!Très bonnes chaussures pour 2 à 3 sorties semaines sur bitumes et chemins aménagés à raison de 10km par sortie.Aucune douleur aux genoux contrairement à mes anciennes new balance
