Pros: this original Altra footshape with roomy toe box is perfect for me; the padding under toe joint is super supportive; no break-in period to speak of (I wore them on a few short walks with soft socks that cover the back of the heel and tongue of the shoe and that was enough to take care of potential hot spots). I’ve got painful toes with arthritis, two cheilectomy surgeries, and pain around the big toe mound. The padding and roomy toe box make these ideal for my toes.
