The new gel-kayano® 23 shoe features our dynamic duomax® support system, set at an angle to support and engage the foot only when required. With improved fit, the new shape not only holds your heel better, it holds the entire foot better while providing superior toe spring. Convergence gel® technology and flytefoam™ technology make the new lighter-weight, innovation in the gel-kayano® family our greatest adaption yet. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.
I've had these shoes for about a month and have worked at least 10 twelve hour shifts in them. They are super comfy and prevent fatigue from standing for extended periods of time. I will post an update in a few months as to how they hold up: I walk approximately 15-18,000 steps each shift so I really chew through shoes. They are easy to wipe clean and the bright colors are really cute. They provide moderate support for over pronators that I supplement with medial post inserts. The shape and design of the shoe helps you to place your weight properly and ensures proper foot strike with each step. They keep a decent grip on wet floors but nothing amazing. The fit runs a little small. I typically buy a 9-9.5 wide but went for the 10 after reading other reviews. Definitely the right choice as they fit snugly but not in an uncomfortable way. The back of the shoe does come up a little high but I like the extra support for my poor achy ankles.Interested to see how they compare to my old pair of New Balance Vazee Prism sneakers, which gave out after eight months of wear and tear.I also bought the Kayano 22 so I can compare them. I read alot of the reviews and ordered the size 11 1/2 on the 22's. I absolutely love them and was glad I went a half size up. I did the same and ordered the 11 1/2 of this Kayano 23. I love them both but the 23 is definitely narrower and slightly shorter than the 22. They will both work for me. I will workout in the 22's with thicker socks and wear these just to run errands in. I am not a runner and have problems with plantar fasciitis. I used to wear Asics all the time and strayed for a few years. I have been wearing softer soled shoes and was told by the podiatrist to go back to the Asics. The soft soled shoes were making things worse. I've only had this pair for a week and the 22's for a month. If you are worried about the width or need a tad extra length, definitely go with the 22's. If you want them a smidge shorter and narrower, get these.I love Asics running shoes for women. My Podiatrist said that asics are the best type of shoe to wear. They are stylish & comfy!!!The kayano 23s are great! I originally ran in the Kayano 21s and wore them in an 8.5. They had always worked great for me as I train for marathons and half marathons. But since they no longer have my size in the 21's I had to choose a different shoe. So I thought why not stay with kayanos. I ordered the 22s from Asics and hated them, they were not right for my feet and way too small at an 8.5 for me. So I sent them back. I then ordered the 23s in an 8.5 and I ran in them. They toe range was too small for my feet and my feet fell asleep on my 6 mile run. So I assumed they were just too small as that was the only issue I had with them. So I sent back the 8.5's and ordered 9's and they're perfect! My feet have so much support and every step I feel great in my kayano 23's! I completely recommend these shoes, however just order a half size bigger than what you normally wear because the newer kayanos seemed to have gotten narrower in the toe area. Love them!I have been wearing ASICS Gel Kayano's since they made the "17" models. I still have the "20"s and loved the look of these but they are definitely not made the same. They do not have the cushion support that they have always had. They are cut more narrow and seem to fit a little smaller then the last five or six pairs I have had. I usually wear an 8.5 and tried the size 9's on, but they were too big so I went with my usual size. I am wearing them for weight lifting and using the treadmill and elliptical, but do not think I would run in them. I am hoping they go back to making the "24"s the way the older models were made on the inside. Love the look on the outside but definitely not better than the older models.I love the shape of the running shoe. It provides a lot of support around the narrower ankle and instep areas. The heel and toe areas are wider, but not wide enough.I have a wacky left foot due to surgery performed 16 years ago, and my foot tilts over slightly, causing my pinkie toe to be crushed against the shoe and also causing an extremely painful callous to grow under the toe. I was hoping that these running shoes would feel like a relief, as any dress shoe, even with a low heel, leaves me in pain, but I found that my foot swelled quite a bit from being squeezed. The running shoes are brand new, so I will give them a week or so to see if I can break them in, but right now, they feel a little too tight.I decided to buy a pair of Kayano 23's after seeing multiple sites mentioning them being great shoes for people with knee problems. I splurged on the gorgeous black version with the pink flowers, even though they were quite a bit more expensive than the other colors. For my first order, I ordered a size 7, my normal shoe size. While they did feel like they were offering great support, my toes were horribly squished and the shoes felt too small. I returned them and got a pair of 7.5s, presuming they would be perfect. But still, the toe area is very tight and it feels like my toes are going to shove through the top of the shoes!I really wanted to like these shoes, they fit my taste perfectly and I really need good knee support, but will have to return them again. I decided not to try the size 8s as I figure at that point, they will be too long, even if it does fix the issue with the toe area. If you have very small toes, these might work, but would still go ahead and go up half a size when ordering.Hallelujah! A shoe that fits my not-typical feet❣️ I may be a little bit in love with the GelKayano. I wear size 12 women's, 12 and 12.5 have been running too small for me in my Asics, I have these in a 13 and plenty of toe room, also not overly wide thankfully. while the floral print is really different, it's also very pretty :-) These shoes are incredibly supportive; I think it is important to note that I carry extra weight and have 1 foot that is suffering from a yet to be diagnosed structural issue, but the shoe is helping correct it and not really hurting in the process. (I think my arch is "falling"/arthritic degeneration). My legs feel better at the end of the day after being on my big, akinny feet for hours ?This product was advertised as being wide in width. It was definitely not. The length of the shoe was fine, it was cushiony and would have been a wonderful gel-comfort shoe, had it not been too narrow. My complaint to ASICS was met with a response that "due to the evolution of the material" used, it now fits smaller than before. This made absolutely no sense as, other purchasers have not mentioned the shoes fitting smaller than before, and the length of the shoe was the same as ever, only the width had changed.Very disappointingI was nervous ordering shoes online but it was a great experience. This is my 4th pair of Asics Gel-Kayano so I knew the fit would be fine. I've not seen this pattern in the stores (in Calgary AB) so I was excited to get what is, for me, a really unique pair. The retailer is not linked to Prime so I waited about a week for the shoes, which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.Amazing fit for narrow feets and can feel the inner adjustment for more stability. The right running shoe for my foot!Thank You!Ils sont confortables et beaux en plus!!!!!
