Heidi Klum for New Balance
I've been working on my sneaker collection lately - making sure I have something to match the wide variety of leggings I wear to the gym and circus classes. I bought these sneakers because they're an unusual color. You don't see a ton of maroon sneakers. They fit as expected and they're reasonably comfortable. I also got a really good deal on them, so I like that. The only thing I'm not wild about is that they're just a little clunkier than I expected/hoped. They're also a tiny bit heavier than a lot of the high-end running shoes in my closet. It's not a huge deal since they're comfortable and cute and I won't be wearing them everyday - it's just something I thought was worth mentioning. In terms of size, I typically wear either an 8.5 or 9. For these, the 9 was a perfect fit. They seem to really grab your foot and offer good support, I wouldn't hesitate to play tennis in them (unless I'm at a snooty club with strict shoe rules). I wouldn't be too concerned about the quick start and stop movement while wearing them.I really like the shoes. I normally wear a size 9M in all other sneakers (even other New Balance) but after reading the reviews I decided to order a 9.5M. They are still a bit tight width wise and a tad bit long but I would not have been comfortable in the 9M as I feel they would have been too tight all around. I did add my own prescription made orthotic to each shoe. I am hoping that once I break them in a little they won't be as tight in the width. I will be wearing them for running errands and going to the gym (stationary bike and workout machines). I hope this helps someone else in deciding what size to order.Warned by other reviewers, I got a whole size larger than my normal size, and it fits in the length. The width is rather narrow; as I have to wear orthotics in all my shoes now, that is a concern to me. I think the shoe is frankly pretty garish, but the photo shows you exactly what you are getting. I haven't actually worn the shoes yet, but when I tried them on, they were remarkably light, provided good lateral support to my foot, and have good arch support and cushioning. I'm not a runner; I will be using them for walking around a workplace with plenty of hard floors and sidewalks. I think they'll be a good, protective, comfortable shoe.Pretty, reasonably lightweight, seems to be the genuine article, and can't beat the sale price! As other reviewers stated: if in doubt, order up a half sizeProblem: I am an under-pronator (my foot rolls in when I walk). These shoes are designed for an over-pronator, but would probably be OK for an even stepper. I got halfway through a workout before I had to stop and rip out the insoles because of pain at the inner balls of my feet; with no support at all I was able to make it through the rest of the workout. Since the shoes were so inexpensive I will be purchasing with an aftermarket insert from another maker, which should solve my problem. These shoes are very nice looking, different without being too loud or flashy. They arrived sooner than I thought they would. The shoes are extremely lightweight but provide good arch support with room for my podiatrist-ordered orthotics. I am not a runner, but I walk a lot and also do zumba in these shoes. There are absolutely no issues with any rubbing or other discomfort. I hope they hold up well; time will tell. The price was fantastic($38.99) but I was a little upset that it dropped by $3.00 the day after I ordered mine!Like the shoe but it is quite narrow and seems to run small. Usually wear an 11 but required a size 12 in these and they are still too short. I ordered a 2nd pair when the price dropped under $40 (paid $70 or so for 1st pair on a lightning deal)They seem to be closing them out (the style). You can always return them if you find they don't fit.Super comfortable shoe. Soft and squishy. Very light weight. My only complaint is the one I have with every soft and squishy shoe….they wear out fast. But for a few months, they are light walking on clouds.I think they may be just a little short but they will be okay. The main thing is they are wide enough. I haven't really had a chance to wear them very long.
