This review will seem to be full of contradictions. I really like these shoes...but I only gave them two stars. Why?For starters, I normally wear a size 8 1/2 or 9 shoe. Based on other reviews to order up...I got these in size 9. The fit is pretty much perfect. I have a VERY high arch and instep but because these shoes are made primarily of an elastic type fabric, the high rise on them was not a problem for me. But these shoes have next to NO arch support inside. NOT good.My biggest complaint may seem a bit strange to most people. Whenever I get a new pair of shoes, I spray them with a Scotch-guard spray. I've found that this helps the shoes stay cleaner longer and helps to make them a bit more waterproof if you get caught outside on a rainy day. I've done this to hundreds of shoes over the years and have never one time had a problem. Until now. DO NOT spray these shoes with anything!!!! They will turn a very weird, bright yellow, but only here and there on the shoe. HORRIBLE. The shoes are basically ruined. This fabric reacted (only in places like around the seams) really badly to the chemical in the Scotch-guard that I always use (which again...has never ever been a problem). So now I have ugly shoes that can't be returned. Oh well. There's nothing that can be done now. They are "mowing shoes". What can I say...?
