I am a longtime Mizuno fan and I love these shoes. I have very high arches and I was "prescribed " to wear Mizunos by a podiatrist years ago. Since discovering Mizunos I have never gone back to any other brand for athletic shoes. I have been a huge fan of The Wave Rider style, but transitioned to Wave Inspire after a few generations of the Riders rubbed my feet the wrong way. I took a risk on trying the Wave Enigma style after being in love with the Inspires for years. The Enigma style is comparable to the Inspires and I am enjoying the new colors and patterns on the Enigmas. Overall, I'm pleased with these shoes. They are true to fit and they accommodate my new prescription inserts for high arches and still have plenty of foot room. I will certainly be buying these again!I've been wearing Mizuno exclusively for running for about 6 years now. I used to be a WaveRider junky, but I've come to really like these shoes and they have a little more support than the WaveRider series which I've found great as I've increased my mileage for half marathon training. The only two notes I have is that the wave-plate that makes Mizunos so unique is stiffer in this this shoe than in others they make and it sort of makes a hollow click when you run (I personally love it, but I know it's not for everyone) and that, like all their shoes, they run about a half-size small. These shoes fit me perfectly. I am a size 7.5M and I ordered the 8. I have worn Mizuno running shoes before and they are always too tight in my normal size but sizing up 1/2 size works. They are the only running shoes I have bought in the past that are low enough that the sides don't hit my ankle bones. However, I don't like the look, its different than the photo, I ordered the light blue and they are much more of a loud blue color than expected, especially the mesh which should imo have been toned down. But the worst part is there is a a lot of shiny plastic on the shoe which makes them look cheap. So I am equally divided on whether to return them or not. The fit is great, but the plastic-y look of the shoe itself and the loud color may be the deciding factor.-Mrs ReisenI have been wearing Mizuno for years. My absolute favorite running shoe. However at some point a few years ago the shoe sizes changed. I could no longer run in the 7 1/2 I have been wearing my entire adult life. They were tight made my feet ache and I was miserable. After reading several reviews I discovered I was not alone. So I took some of their advice and went up to a size 8 and have had no problems since. I am back to loving my shoes.I purchased these for running as my previous shoes were the Wave Legend 4 and I put over 500 miles on those in the past year. These Wave Enigma run a half size smaller. They have a stiffer sole which I read about in other reviews and didn't think it would be a concern but now am struggling with my toes going numb. I only have about 20 miles on these new shoes but might have to shop for other running shoes now. I don't understand why such similiar models could fit, feel, and function so differently. The photo shows the Wave Enigma size 7 on the left, 6.5 Wave Legend 4 on the right in the lighter blueIt took me a while to break these as they felt somewhat tight at the beginning, I was considering sending them back, but was too lazy (and I also love how cute they are) so I kept wearing them, hoping they would yield eventually. I'm glad I did because after few weeks they are now super comfortable.Full disclosure, I'm a Saucony enthusiast but I wanted a more cushioned shoe with a 12mm offset so decided to try these. (While I have always run in Saucony shoes, I used to have a pair of Mizuno running shoes in rotation many years back and liked that pair.) Unfortunately, Saucony only has one shoe with a 12mm offset (the Cohesion, which I love but it's not very cushioned). For me, this shoe felt stiff--the entire platform and midsole had no flexibility whatsover. If felt like running with a piece of plywood strapped to my foot. I bought these for my outdoor / PM runs and the shoe didn't feel at all cushioned to me. The shoe itself runs small. I wear a size 6.5 in dress shoes, size 7 in boots (to accommodate thick sock), and a size 7.5 in all Saucony shoes. I ordered an 8 in these and my toes had very little room. The width was good though. My runs: AM (treadmill), PM (outside)Distance: 3.6 miles (PM)Arch type: Average/NormalFoot type: NeutralHeight/weight: 5'6", 140 lbsAfter reading sizing reviews, I decided to order a half size up and I'm happy that I did so. Mizuno is one of my favorite brands of athletic shoes, as they fit my somewhat wide foot perfectly, and hold up very well with long-term use. I walk on a concrete floor for hours a day, about 4-6 miles, and I cannot recall even having any heel pain by the end of my shift. These have been such great, supportive shoes. Very high value for the price.
