I have overpronation. With many of my shoes (New Balance, Sketchers), you can really see my right ankle slip inward when I walk. I'm self-conscious about it. After a lot of online research to see which shoes I should start wearing, I came across this brand/style. With these shoes, my ankles stay very straight. I've only worn them around the house so far, but I find them to be very comfortable. Also, I really wanted a cute, neutral sneaker for summer--one that would go with many outfits. I did NOT want these at first because I thought they would look too chunky and "orthopedic" (due to thick sole). However, I purchased the tan/mushroom color, and I think they look cute. They will be my everyday shoes. Some shoe brands fit me in a 10, but most of the time I need a 10.5; the 10.5 Brooks fit me perfectly!
